The starting point for this cycle of works was an intense experience of gazing up at a cloudless blue sky, and sensing the unity of all things. I tend to make minimal work with a contemplative quality. I aim for a strong feeling of presence, generally using quite insubstantial materials. The process of transforming substances is a key concern. Other recurrent elements of my work are responses to architecture, geometry and the repetition of simple forms. My current work is concerned with integrating drawing and 3-dimensional space.
