Sarah Simblet, MA Oxon, Ph.D, b. Nottingham, 1972, artist and author of The Drawing Book (Dorling Kindersley 2005) and Anatomy for the Artist (Dorling Kindersley 2001), is Tutor in Anatomy at the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, University of Oxford, where she is also a member of Wolfson College.

Visiting lecturer to Bergen Architecture School, Norway, Sarah also teaches public drawing and anatomy workshops across the UK. In 2005 she was a judge of the Jerwood Drawing Prize, consultant, and a contributor to The Secret of Drawing (BBC2) and presenter of a pilot documentary Life Class (BBC3).

Sarah has had six solo exhibitions of her drawings, contributes to national and international contemporary art shows, and her drawings are held in national and private collections.

Sarah consults on the history of anatomical art, and co-selected Future Face at the Science Museum, London (2004).

She is currently researching and making a large series of drawings for her new DK title The Drawn Garden to be published in Spring 2009.
