Betsy Tyler Bell1984 -5 Foundation art; Univ. Oxford Brookes1995-98 Ruskin school of art, Univ. Oxford. 1992 MA oxon.
Following graduation I taught papermaking and printmaking until 2000 in the USA and in the UK. During that time my main work was based on the cycles of nature using handmade paper as a main medium. I became a studio member of MRS. Living in France for part of the year.
In 2000 I founded'Art in Situ' an Inter-European Art Association in the south of France. The main aim was to run artists residencies and other projects while fostering an active network of European artists.
In 2011, I returned to work in Oxford, mainly in printmaking and photography based on elements of nature and geological themes. Recently I have been pondering the notion of nature being free in contrast with constraints and barriers imposed both internally and externally against what we might consider to be freedom.
