Magdalen Road Studios was founded in order to provide affordable workspaces for artists. We have fourteen studios in a former lampshade factory in East Oxford. We are about a mile from the City Centre.

The artists work in a range of media – painting, sculpture, video, installation, drawing, performance and photography. We have a policy of encouraging young artists at the beginning of their careers. View the artists' work or come to one of our Open Studios.

One of the aims of the studios is to bring in artists from different cultural backgrounds to work and exchange ideas. Studio artists are involved in projects in France, Germany, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Hungary.
